When I decided that I wanted to Lose my Fat Gut, I started to take steps that would be followed by most people in a similar position. I did manage to lose fat around the middle, but this took me far longer than I had anticipated. The problem was that I was going about things in the wrong way.  If you would like to know what is the quickest and most effective method to lose your gut, then you can visit this site to lose stomach fat, otherwise continue reading.

The first thing that I looked at was my diet, and clearly the obvious thing to target was the amount of calories that I was eating. I thought that if I ate less calories, then the quicker I could get rid of gut fat. I started to cut back on the food that I was eating each day. At first this wasn’t so bad, but after about a week or so I was starting to find it hard. I felt a bit run down, and I also started to get a little moody (so my wife tells me). But I thought that this was how it was meant to be done, so I stuck to it.

The other thing that I knew that I had to do was exercise. To be honest I didn’t really mind exercise too much as I was pretty active when I was younger. I thought a few hours a week on an exercise bike and my midsection fat would soon start to disappear. So that was pretty much my plan. looking back it was a pretty useless plan, and the fact is that it was the type of plan which made losing a fat stomach a much longer process than it needed to be.

At the time I just thought that it was my age that was making it hard to lose my fat gut, and things would take time. The problem was that I was used to methods that people were using 30 years ago to lose weight. It never occured to me that nutrition and methods of training had moved on a lot from the days when I was growing up. I suppose it’s common to stick with what you know.

My flat stomach workout consisted of doing as many sit ups as I could, and riding an exercise bike for an hour about 3 times a week. I was also eating around 1200 calories a day. The good news was that I had lost weight after about a month, but the problem was that it was from my arms and legs. The fat on my stomach had hardly moved, and on top of that I felt tired all the time, and grumpy.

There had to be better way to lose your gut than the method I was using. I started to look around online for better ways of getting rid of fat. There are a ton of programs that are available on the internet which promise you that you can easily lose midsection fat. The biggest problem was which one should I pick? I am old enough to know that there are plenty of people out there who are more than happy to tell you what you want to hear in order to get your money.

I wanted something which had some sort of track record and had been used by a lot of people. I did find a program called The Truth About Six Pack Abs by a guy called Mike Geary. This particular system is rated the top abs program online and is still as popular today, as it was when it first came out. My first thoughts was that I was not particularly bothered about getting a set of ripped abs, I just wanted to lose fat gut, so that it didn’t look like that I was carrying a giant boiled egg under my clothes.

In the end I opted for a 21 day trial which costs a couple of bucks, just to see what it was like. There is a lot of information in the program, but all of it is worth paying attention to. I also realised that his system was not as I had assumed, for bodybuilders or fitness freaks. It could be used by anyone regardless of age or gender. I realised that everything that I had been doing up to that point was actually preventing me from losing the fat around the middle of my body. My flat stomach workout was all wrong, I was exercising too much, the way I was eating was slowing down my metabolism. It was an bit of an eye opener, I always thought that stomach exercises were the way to get rid of a fat gut, but you can lose fat drom the stomach without even doing any targeted exercises for the stomach.

Anyway I started using the methods in the Truth About Six Pack Abs Book, and I managed to lose 4 inches off my waist within 6 weeks. This was because I was using the most effective stomach workouts, not starving myself, and using cardio exercises which gave me the most for the effort I was putting in.

I have no hesitation in recommending this program for anybody who wants to get rid of gut fat. This is a healthy and very effective way of getting results. However if you think that you will lose a fat gut by just purchasing this system, you are mistaken. You will need to apply the information in the program. I’m not saying that it is easy, but what I can tell you from my own experience is that you will only have to exercise around 3 hours each week, and you will not have to go short on food. If this is the way you want things to be, then you should take a look at this  program.

Customer Review – I just bought one of these from a local “Play It Again Sports” location and I must say I’m impressed with the sturdy manufacturing. (I’d recommend you ask your local store for a price. I saved $100 over Amazon’s price!) It has a very smooth ride and feels very sturdy even when I ride it at a quick rate. I’m 215 lbs and I have it set up on Berber carpet and it still feels very sturdy!

The assembly took me about 2 hours and it wasn’t very difficult. Schwinn (er, Nautilus) did a good job of packing all of the nuts and washers in a very organized way where there is no doubt what is what. The instructions were very easy to follow and didn’t require any tools other than the ones included in the box.

I’m very happy with this unit. It has a wonderful selection of 20 different programs built in and has 16 levels of resistance as well. The heart rate monitor is well placed and seems to work well for me. The lack of a chest strap compatibility feature wasn’t a big deal for me since I don’t use a chest strap and have never liked them, but be aware of this short-coming if that option matters to you.

Overall, I think this is a good deal and a solid machine. Now I just need to start getting up and using it every morning!

Horizon Fitness EX-78 Elliptical Trainer

Bring the gym into your home and enjoy an efficient, high-caliber workout with the Horizon EX-78 elliptical trainer, which works your legs as well as your upper body.

All Horizon elliptical trainers now feature SixStar Certification–a unique combination of the six key elements needed to deliver the smoothest, most natural elliptical feel available. Perfect for rigorous training routines, the EX-78 offers a 20-level electronic resistance system, along with a heavy 17.6-pound flywheel that maintains pedal and arm momentum while offering a smooth, quiet operation.

Customer Review – I purchased this elliptical trainer after considerable research and deliberation. I’ve owned one prior elliptical, a Weslo model that I very quickly outgrew due to it’s limited range of resistance. That is the specific reason I decided to spend about twice what I’d planned – so that I had a product that would provide a wider array of challenges over time. With 20 levels of resistance, a motorized incline of up to 16%, and the versatility of both forward and reverse motion this was the ideal choice. The shipping box is large and heavy and definitely a 2-person lift unless you have a heavy duty dolly.

Assembly was very easy and quite well organized: all of the necessary tools were provided and of high quality, and with the exception of the cheesy wrench, are now permanent additions to my tool pouch. A ratchet wrench set will prove far more useful in the assembly of this, or any other, exercise machine. The hardware provided was simply outstanding; no having to sort through myriad nuts, bolts, washers, or lockwashers. The hardware for each stage of assembly came in individually marked packages, so it was a breeze moving from one step to another. All the screws or bolts were already pre-treated with a lock-tight compound, which will prevent the need for frequent tightening or tune-ups. Even though all of the moving or pivot parts were pre-greased I used, and recommend a white lithium based grease for application to all of the moving parts. This will help in two ways: it makes the operation of the elliptical much smoother and quieter. I applied the lithium grease right over the factory applied grease – no harm, no foul.

The operation of the machine is outstanding, although it lacks the graphical displays common to most ellipticals in this price range. That’s okay, I try not to look at the console anyway, it can be distracting or even harmful to one’s motivation to see how much longer to go in the workout. The built-in fan has 3 levels and is adequate to the task, considering it’s very small size. I usually set up a fan and a small tv to provide cooling and distraction during my workouts.

The operation of the elliptical itself is outstanding: smooth, quiet, and comfortable. The Horizon 6-Star Certification is certainly valid, it is a very ergonomically comfortable piece of equipment. I’m a disabled veteran with significant lower back and arthritis conditions, but this machine doesn’t hurt me one bit. Although I’m still in the conditioning phase of my exercise program I am already feeling the benefits of this near gym quality machine. I will provide an update to this review in the future. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this product regarding both assembly and operation.

Sole E95 Elliptical Trainer (2011 Model)

Rated a “best buy” by leading consumer websites and magazines, the Sole E35 elliptical trainer delivers an efficient full-body workout in the comfort of your bedroom, basement, or garage.

The E35 is equipped with a heavy 25-pound flywheel, a high gear ratio not found on most comparable models, and a whisper-quiet drive system.

The E35’s console includes a vibrant LCD display and an integrated sound system.

As a result, the trainer delivers an extremely fluid performance and plenty of top-end resistance, helping it function like a much more expensive trainer. The E35’s power incline feature, meanwhile, boosts resistance even more while targeting different core muscle groups, adding diversity to your workout. Simply press a button to raise the incline ramp to your preferred position. The ramp angle is fully adjustable from a level plane up to 30 degrees, so you can individually target and work all major lower body muscles.

The E95 treadmill from Sole® is a value in every sense of the word. It’s designed with an easy-to-use console that features a vibrant LED readout, and a built-in cooling fan and water bottle holder offer total convenience. Fluid, natural motion is provided by the whisper-quiet drive system, while the combination of a 29-lb flywheel and high gear ratio ensures a smooth feel with plenty of top-end resistance.

Customer Review – Did the usual consumer report/amazon.com/treadmillDR. research and this brand came up with high marks for the cost. Then went to Dick’s sporting goods where they have them in stock to check out. Actually ordered one direct from Sole as this was the best price (no tax, free shipping)…I splurged for the “turnkey service”. It is an extra 235.00 and meant they would haul it to the second floor of my home and set it up and haul away all debris. WELL WORTH IT. Strikingly at Sole when I placed the order they discouraged this service and said for 100.00 they will deliver it to the room of your choice and “its really easy to put together” I don’t think so…..The two professional movers who put together about one of these machines a week said it is challenging and it took them working together 2 solid hours. Soooo, think about that when ordering.

In terms of the machine itself, I have only had it for a week and both I and my 11 year old daughter have used it. I am 240 lb and short, 5 feet, 4 inches….the machine works fine for me both moving forward and backward directions. My partner who is only 5 feet 1 inch also says it works for her. (Shorter folks just grab the handle bars lower down.) It is totally quiet (much more so than my bowflex treadmill which sits next to it). It comes with a heart monitor strap, or you can grab the stationary hand grips and get heart rate that way. Compared to the precor I use at the gym, I find the quality and work out is comparable. Someone said the built in speaker for mp3s was useless. I plugged my ipod in and found it was plenty audible, even when not cranked to full volume. When I asked at Sole if there was any difference between this model and the 2010, they said just the color/quality of the display. So, the older reviews are likely relevant.

Customer Review – Although my husband and I put this trainer together just yesterday, and I’ve only used it twice now, he used it only once, it is awesome! The directions were easy, but you MUST READ them, not just look at the diagrams, trust me!! Also, we were very pleasantly surprised to discover that all the nuts, bolts and screwdrivers were very secure in nice, organized labeled “kits” to better assist you! About 20 min. assembly.

It took me at least a full month of searching to find a machine small enough for my home (we are fulltime RVers), and one that is under $500. This is that dream realized!

The machine is easy to use, with the computer supplying the resistance. So far I am only using the first minimal resistance because I found that even the first pre-programmed mode was tough for me!! That makes this machine even better!

Using both the elliptical part as well as the bicycle part in conjunction with each other, I am getting a really good workout, but comfortable. After a few minutes of elliptical walking, I have to sit, so that’s where the bicycle comes in play and I don’t have to stop working out to rest. I simply bicycle for a few minutes and stand up for the elliptical!! Easy.

It is a great quality machine for the price, I do think it will last for the duration in which I require it, and I am so pleased I’m pink. Well, I’m off to try to work out some more on this wonderful piece of equipment. Hurry and get one for yourself and get moving!

Merit Fitness 725E Elliptical Trainer

Bring the gym into your home and enjoy an efficient, affordable workout with the Merit 725E elliptical trainer.

The 725E boasts a 9.9-pound flywheel and 10 levels of computer-programmed resistance, along with an easy-to-operate computer console that shows your workout time, resistance level, calories burned, and distance. The trainer also makes it easy to check your heart rate, with EKG handgrips located comfortably under the console.

Finally, the trainer includes eight preset workout programs for getting in shape: manual, intervals, rolling hills, weight loss, fat blast, cardio burn, tempo, and random. Other details include pivoting footpads with a textured surface; a 275-pound weight capacity, and a 16-inch stride length.

Customer Review – I’ve had this product assembled and in use for about 2 weeks now, and so far I’m quite happy with it. It seems sturdy and it’s comfortable to use. The assembly took about an hour and a half with two people–without a second person you’d be doing some juggling but it would be possible. If you have trouble with dexterity or hand strength, I would definitely recommend getting someone to help you put it together because some of the pre-installed bolts are very tight and a couple of the locations are a little tricky to get to.

The assembly directions were fairly clear, and it includes the tools you’ll need. I got a 7ft long mat for it to sit on, though you could probably get away with a 6ft mat. It runs smoothly and quietly. We’ll see how it performs over time, but so far I’d say it was worth the price, and I intend to be using it on a daily basis.
